Reminder: As a member of the Penland Historical Society, you can help keep our web-site where you and those searching (many for the first time) can get a good start in connecting themselves to their branch of the 'Penland Family Tree'.   We have known for some time that any person named 'Penland' & Pendlum in the U.S. can be connected to the four Penland families who migrated to North Carolina & Kentucky during the 1700s { so far, every Penland we know has been traceable back to Robert, William, George and Alexander Penland}.  This may suggest that every person named Penland or Pentland (in the rest of the world) may very well be blood related and descend from a single family that lived in Scotland about the year 1000.  Our annual dues of $10.00 are unchanged and now due for 2014 - very little expense to find out about other Penland families.   Send a check for $10.00 to Charles Penland, 15612 Echo Lane, Selma, Texas   78154 along with a listing of your known Penland family members, which will help us to keep on making the family connections!
