  Robert Weldon Penland             (1974  -  2019)
Robert Weldon Penland, 45 years of Pleasant Lake, drowned on Saturday, January 19, 2019, after falling through the ice while fishing on Terry Lake at Hamilton, Indiana.  Robert was born January 1973 in Washington D.C., to Mark S. and Martha (Mosley) Penland, while they were both serving in the United States Marine Corps.  Robert later moved to live with his mother in Silsbee, Texas.  At the age of 11, Robert moved to Hamilton to live with his grandparents, Delos and Dorothy Penland.  Robert worked as a forklift operator for OSS in Hamilton. He was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Angola.  He loved to hunt and fish and was known for his ability to find 'morel' mushrooms.  Robert is survived by his mother and stepfather, Martha (Johnny) Lascoski of Silsbee, Texas;  half-brother James Lascoski also of Silsbee and his grandparents, Delos and            Dorothy Penland of Hamilton along with several aunts, uncles and cousins.  He was preceded in death by his father, Mark Penland, half-sister Paula Sewell and his special uncle, Terry Penland.

  Edward Stanley Wilson            (1970  -  2019)
Edward Stanley Wilson age 49 of Mill Spring, North Carolina passed away on January 19th 2019 at Hospice.  Eddie was the son of Jerry Wilson and the late Vicki Penland Wilson.  In addition to his father, survivors include his wife Luetta Larson Wilson; stepdaughter Amy Dalman of Michigan, stepdaughter Shelia Gilliam of Indiana;  six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

  Norma J. Bloomberg                 (1925  -  2019)
Norma J. Bloomberg, 93, of West Burlington died Monday, January 28, 2019 at Danville Care Center.  Born August 16, 1925 she was the daughter of Oscar Knox and Harriet E. (Penland) Swan.  She married Mark Bloomberg on March 6, 1946.  They later divorced.  Norma was a homemaker and worked for IRC/Sylvania and then for Champion Spark Plug for 20 years until her retirement in 1987.  She was a member of the Lutheran faith and attended Immanuel Lutheran Church in Mediapolis where she played the organ and piano for services for many years.  She was a member of Local UAW #1237. Survivors include her two children, Kathy (Bill) Birdsell and Randy Bloomberg both of Burlington;  one granddaughter, Mary Birdsell of Burlington, one niece, Marcia (Ron) Glasgow of Burlington and one nephew Dave (Elsie) Watson of Morning Sun;  and additional nieces and nephews by marriage.  She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, one sister, one daughter and stillborn twin sons.

Constance "Connie" Kay Penland      (1936  -  2019)
Morristown.....Constance "Connie" Kay Penland Nolen, of Morristown, passed away peacefully at home with her children at her side, January 16, 2019.  She was born January 4, 1936 in Atlanta, Georgia to the late William Hoyt and Kathryn Naomi Penland.  Also, preceding her in death was her husband of 49 years, William "Bill" Nolen and sister, Jean Miller.  Connie was a 1955 graduate of Dobyns-Bennett High School.  She worked as an engineer with Berkline for many years.  After retiring, she worked at Walters State Community College in closed-circuit TV.  She was a member of the First Christian Church since 2006 and prior to that, a member for over 25 years at Westside Christian Church.  Connie is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Martha Kathryn "Kathy" (Larry) Bolling; son and daughter-in-law William Kerry (Toni) Nolen;  grandsons, Josh (Mandy) Bolling and Caleb Bolling;  granddaughters, Jennifer (Justin) Marion and Emily (Landon) Johnson, great grandsons Issac (Jessica) Bolling, Austin and Ethen Seeber, Ethan and Lochian Johnson;  great-great granddaughter, Charlotte "Charlee" Elizabeth Bolling;  sister, Penny (Richard) Jones; several sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

  Joseph Meek Penland                     (1935 - 2019)
Joseph (Joe) Meek Penland, age 84, of Madisonville, passed away Friday, February 22, 2019.  He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.  He was the beloved husband of Barbara for 43 years;  loved father of John Meek Penland and wife, Saskia and Angelyn Dixon Penland and husband Chris Smith;  loved step-father of Linda White Giles, David Raymond White, Stephen Roger White and wife Susan, and Lawrence Michael White;  cherished grandfather of Savannah Jasmine Penland and Eric Stephen White.  He was preceded in death by his parents  John and Ruth Penland and sister, Alice Penland.

  Paul W. Penland                     (1956 - 2019)
Paul W. Penland, 62, of Chesterfield, Virginia passed away January 1, 2019.  He was the pastor of Living Stone Baptist Church.  His funeral was held on January 4th at the Virginia Veterans Cemetery at Amelia.
