Dear Family Members -- I have thoroughly enjoyed my association with the Society as President for more than the past 10 years, however it is time for someone else to assume that role.  Within weeks I will have reached the age of 84 - an age that many might characterize as 'elderly,' with any possible additional years as "living on borrowed time"!  I have tried to find a replacement for myself without any positive result.  I plan to continue updating this web site as long as I'm able, but frankly, if a replacement is not found, this web site will disappear shortly after I do!  Ideally, we need someone who cares about family history and is willing to spend some time providing that information to the many who are searching.   It really does not take that much time!  So, if you have an interest in helping to keep the information on this site available to all, and are willing to spend a reasonable amount of time and effort to do it - please contact me at
< > to discuss it.   Thank you - Charles Penland

NOTE - without a replacement, the Society as an organization will become inactive, so I have not solicited the usual $10 annual membership fee for 2020.  I will accept donations  - that can extend the availability of the web site until all funds are depleted.
